So, you’re about ready to buy a spa. We’re glad
you are looking at our website. You will find a lot of valuable
information here to help you make a good purchase decision.
A little bit about us. We’ve sold and serviced thousands of
spas here in Central Oregon over the last two decades at our
two store locations. We have learned a lot about what’s important
in spas. There’s no question that quality and reliability are
the most important features to look for because a spa is a
major purchase and it has to work reliabily in a severe environment
for many years.
We sell Marquis Spas because quality and reliability are
most important to them also. Anytime there's an industry discussion
about quality spa brands, the Marquis Spas name is brought
up. Consumer’s Digest regularly rates Marquis Spas as
a spa "Best Buy".
Marquis Spas have been made right here in Oregon for more
than 20 years. Marquis Spas are one of the largest spa manufacturers
and they are actually owned by the employees. Being employee
owned means that the employees are highly motivated to do the
job right. We find that the current Marquis Spas models have
the highest customer satisfaction of all the spas we’ve
sold over the years.
Simply put, you just can’t go wrong with a Marquis spa.
Many spa brands and
dealers have come and gone here in Central Oregon. Additionally,
not all spas are created equal. There is a wide variety in
spa materials, design, manufacturing quality, features, reliability
and dealer support. So it’s real important to evaluate
a spa’s manufacturer, it’s warranty and it’s
dealer in addition to it’s price and features.
Some good
questions to ask include:
- Has the manufacturer been in business for many years?
- Is the brand a major brand?
- Has the brand been sold locally for many years?
- Is the brand made in Oregon?
- Is the company employee owned instead of being controlled
by isolated investors?
- Warranty - Is there a no fault warranty? What does the
fine print say?
- Is the warranty transferable?
- Has the dealer been in business for many years?
- Do the dealer’s employees have factory sales and
service training certifications?
- Is the dealer providing set up, delivery and spa use training.?
- Does the store provide a written Customer Benefits Program
and how do those benefits compare to Fireside's?
A negative, or don’t know answer to one or two of the
above questions is certainly OK, but negative answers to several
questions should raise serious questions about whether that
spa purchase should be made.
Some
important things to look for in spa brands and specific models:
- Multiple, Consumer’s Digest "Best Buy" awards.
- Construction quality
- Fit and finish
- User friendly controls
- Large foot well
- Easy to use sanitization system
- Ease of exterior maintenance.
- Simple to operate
- Hydrotherapy systems
Some
of the least important things to look at in evaluating a
spa include:
- Number of jets
- High (apparent) horsepower rating of motors
- Lots of lights
- Lowest price
- "Gadgets and gimmicks"
- Pop-up speakers
- DVD/video systems
When you’re trying to decide which model is best for
your family’s needs, you should decide how you are going
to use your spa most of the time. Here are some simple guidelines
to help with the selection process:
Family Fun:
Will you use it primarily for family fun? If so, you should
select a larger spa that has "open" seating instead
of conformal seating and lounges.
Hydrotherapy:
Will you use your spa primarily for hydrotherapy? If so,
you should select a model that has a thoughtfully designed
and easy to use hydrotherapy system designed to cover various
muscle groups and not select spa because it has a bunch of
jets. It's extremely important and very informative to do a
test soak in
the dealer's demonstration spa. You should pay particular
attention to the ease of using the controls and the ability
to adjust the hydrotherapy to different muscle groups and joints.
Relaxation:
Will you use your spa primarily for relaxation? If so, many
different models will work for you. Even the less featured
models will work well because you will be primarily be soaking
in the soothing warm water. Pay particular attention to the
spa's shape and comfort of it's lounger. A spa with a built
in speaker system can be a good choice because relaxing music
can add greatly to your overall spa relaxation experience.
You should avoid video systems because most movies add stress
to spa usage and create tension, not relaxation.
Sometimes the best values and savings come from asking about
sales promotions and floor model availability. So, be sure
to check on the following:
- Are there any sales or promotions underway?
- Are there any floor models or demonstration models for
sale?
- Is there any special financing available?
