Since our beginning in the late 1970s, Fireside has placed
particular emphasis on providing a high level of service for
each customer. To do this, our personnel have significant factory
and industry training and certifications in addition to many
years of experience. We have reinvested significant business
income to make our service department one of the best in the
United States . Our personnel utilize an extensive computer
system to organize and track all aspects of an item’s
purchase, its installation and any necessary adjustments, warranty
or repair work that could come up in the future. We have a
number of installation and service trucks and crews, all managed
by specially trained personnel to insure that our crews are
able to be there when you expect them and have the correct
items for the work to be done.
Fireplaces
and Stoves Installation and Service

Fireside has installed thousands of fireplaces and stoves
in Central Oregon . Correct installation is a very critical
element for the proper, safe and reliable operation of fireplaces
and stoves and is a critical factor in reducing service problems.
Fireside’s installation and service personnel are factory
and National
Fireplace Institute (NFI) trained and certified and are
also certified by the Oregon Fire Marshall’s office.
Oregon state law requires a contractor’s license for
anyone but the homeowner doing the installation of fireplaces
and stoves. And, Oregon State law states that a building permit
is always required.
Consumers should always insist on installation by a business
that has NFI certified employees and is a licensed Oregon contractor.
Our Oregon state contractors license number is 67586. Oregon
requires that a building permit be taken out when stoves or
fireplaces are installed and permits are required by home owner
insurance carriers. The final step of the building permit is
inspection and approval of the installation by the local building
inspector’s office. Unfortunately, many times these installations
are done without a permit. Consumers should never do business
with anyone that “wants to save you money” by not
taking out a permit.
Fireside has factory trained and certified service technicians
with fully equipped service trucks. Our service technicians
provide a wide variety of maintenance or warranty work on fireplaces,
stoves and spas. Be sure to verify that you have a real problem
before scheduling service however. Many apparent service problems
turn out to be rather simple things that homeowners can do
themselves and save money in the process. Prior to requesting
service work, read your owner’s manual. Also many manufacturer’s
websites typically have trouble shooting and FAQ sections.
They also have manuals available for downloading if you have
lost yours.
Pilot Lighting Problems : Your manual is a particularly good
resource if you are having trouble lighting your pilot light.
If you continue to have a problem and you have a natural gas
appliance, your utility company, Cascade Natural Gas will provide
additional assistance. If you have propane and continue to
have problems lighting your pilot, it is very likely air was
introduced into the gas line during the last tank refill or
during an extended period of non use. The line will need to
be bled by your propane company before your appliance will
operate properly again.
Smoking Wood Stove or Fireplace : If your stove or fireplace
was working fine but begins to smoke, it means two things:
- You need to have your chimney cleaned.
- You need to burn hotter, smaller fires.
The Three Basic Hearth Product Service Steps
- Carefully read your owners manual for solutions
- Look for obvious things like an unplugged electrical line.
- Schedule service:

Marquis Spas Service
Fireside provides full service including warranty service
on Marquis Spas. Prior to requesting service, be sure to read
your Marquis Spas owners manual. Many times, the answer to
a problem is covered in the manual. As an example, common cause
for your spa suddenly not operating properly is simply that
the filter(s) are dirty. A thorough filter cleaning fixes it.
A common cause of “cloudy” water is that inadequate
sanitizer at some point allowed bacteria growth. Your Marquis
Spas owner’s manual covers proper water maintenance in
considerable detail. Come by the store and talk to us if water
clarity problems continue.
Marquis Spas warranty coverage is extensive. Your owner’s manual lists all the warranty details.
Be sure to contact us if you have questions.

BBQ Grill Service
Fireside provides full service including warranty service
on the grills that we sell. Prior to requesting service, be
sure to read your grill owners manual. Many times, the answer
to a problem is covered in the manual.
It’s not uncommon for a gas grill to have problems
starting. This problem is usually caused by something as simple
as a loose wire , a gas valve being off or a propane tank that
should have been turned on before the grill was. Other times,
it is caused by a faulty igniter. We usually have replacement
igniters in stock so be sure to stop by Fireside for a replacement
one.
Grills should also be kept somewhat clean. Not only are grills
with excessive build ups of residue unsightly, they are also
a health and fire hazard.
Be sure to thoroughly clean your grill before you request
service. This will save you money because our service technician
will have to spend time cleaning your grill beffore he can
find the problem.
